Favorite Releases from August 2026
August usually tends to be a slower month for new releases. Vacation season is in full swing, summer festivals are having their last hurrah, and things generally begin to quiet down. This August, however, didn't feel scarce at all. As always, we tried to keep things varied. Different styles, different moods, different corners of electronic music, all connected by that certain something we like to think of as the “Delayed” stamp.
Lawrence English, Manja Ristić, and Silentwave provided some of the month's more attentive listening. Deep and introspective, with field recordings playing an important role, these are records capable of transporting you somewhere else for a while.
Erik M, Chestnut People, and Kid Drama are stylistically quite different, but there's a certain lightness connecting their work. Emotive, melodic, and intricate, these became natural choices for daytime listening.
Shoal, Notzing, Estrato Aurora, Menou, and Pajaro Dune take things closer to the dance floor. Again, the approaches vary considerably, but there's a shared curiosity running through them, with fresh takes on techno, halftime, and the grey areas beyond.
