PREMIERE: Vantropic - Rift [Delver]
Dutch imprint Delver is adding another entry into their burgeoning musical story steeped in deep, dubby, hardware driven explorations. Founded by Sasemoi back in 2020, the label, after a brief hiatus, has seen prior offerings by himself and a stellar ambient collaboration with Holotropic. Running through all of these releases is a common thread of warmth, and spontaneity that can only come from the physicality of modular and synthesizer gear.
With this thread in mind, we arrive at their first compilation, and vinyl release on the label. The aptly named Delve Deeper (Vol.1) includes music from founder Sasemoi, Holotropic, and the first from long-time friend Vand as part of a collaboration with Holotropic, Vantropic. Spanning four tracks, the comp is a great cross-section of the group's various personalities and shared times spent together in the studio around summer's end of 2025.
Developing precisely at its own pace, Rift, the collaboration between Holotropic and Vand is a delightfully off-kilter production. The track's rhythmic cycles leave a distinct tension, a jump from one hit to the next keeps the movement alive and intriguing to the ear. All the while, warm pads drape over the beat like a blanket with their emotional and calming nature. A fitting end to this compilations’ musical story.
Rift, and in turn the rest of the first Delve Deeper compilation will be released both digitally and on vinyl, September 18th.
