PREMIERE: Truglut - To Smithreens [Eigenblau]

Madrid-based label and collective Eigenblau welcomes back one of its founding members, Truglut, for another exploration of rhythm and space. His second Eigenblau EP of 2026 follows January’s psychedelic Tangent Spaces, continuing what has already been a fruitful year for the Madrid-based producer.

Shadow Rollers is a five-track EP inspired by the interplay of elements coming in and out of focus. There's a calm yet powerful atmosphere running through the entire record, with each track carrying a certain weight while leaving plenty of room for the smaller details to emerge. It has that unmistakable feeling of someone who knows exactly what needs to be done and how little is required to achieve it. Atmospheric halftime rollers, if you wish.

Our premiere today, To Smithreens, is a perfect example of how music can move you and relax you at the same time. Truglut's excellent sound design is on full display here. Rolling rhythms provide a steady foundation while droning textures move around them, creating a beautiful balance between motion and atmosphere. A lot is happening beneath the surface, but everything has its place. The individual elements have enough room to breathe, and the track never feels overcrowded. This is exactly the kind of music I could have playing on my headphones or speakers all day. It fits a variety of settings and moods, and you can engage with it as much or as little as you like. That versatility is one of my favorite things about To Smithreens and the rest of the record. It comes from Truglut's ability to recognize the importance of space and restraint.

Shadow Rollers will be available via Eigenblau's Bandcamp page on November 5.
