PREMIERE: Traevor - Reef [Versun]
Having had the good opportunity to meet Malte Schumann aka Caldera a few years ago and spend quality time together at Above Below, plus a few club nights in-between. I’ve come to know him as an incredibly warm individual, passionate above all about music, and a weapon in the studio. Today though brings forth another avenue in which I’m sure he’ll flourish as we help announce his new label, Versun and its seminal offering, titled Microworlds Level 1: The Goblin Walk.
The compilation includes music from Traevor aka BLNDR, Streetfaxx aka Tulips or Hopolito, nightwaif as well as 2 of his own tracks under his Caldera and Loop LF monikers. Embodying a signature liquid-like or natural sounding atmospheres, Malte’s done an excellent job curating the tracks and all maintain an edge that keeps things fresh through the various shades of beat, before ending with a stellar ambient hug.
Reef, by Traevor is the latest from BLNDRs side project, started in 2022 with a release on his own label Prosophone. Launching off into the deep end immediately, listeners are greeted with a warm blast of percussion, colored with granulated textures on top. The ufo-like synths provide another layer of whimsical positive feelings that contribute to the ear-worm tune.
Microworlds Level 1: The Goblin Walk will be released out into the world both on vinyl via Juno and on Bandcamp, the 23rd of June.
