PREMIERE: Faulsk & Pugilist - Retrospect [Ruff Kutz]
Rhythmic movements from a land down under are our focus for today as we highlight a collaboration between Faulsk and Pugilist, titled Lucid. Released on the burgeoning Ruff Kutz imprint (helmed by Pugilist) the four tracker acts like a pressure release valve of energy for both artists. It’s a no nonsense, versatile package, chock full with tunes that can work their way into many situations.
Sliding in as the fourth and final track of the release, Retrospect slowly swells with presence. Nothing too abrupt, nothing too jarring, just building on what has come before, while snappy percussion and an undulating groove keep things from feeling stale. A good come down from the energy of before.
Retrospect and in turn, Lucid will be released digitally and on vinyl, the 23rd of October.
