Favorite Releases from September 2025
There’s a particular stillness to September. The air changes, the days shrink, and music begins to draw closer to the skin. This year, that shift was audible everywhere: in Valentino Mora’s aqueous world for Spazio Disponibile, in Lord of the Isles’ tender modular glow on Dusk Delay, and in Vera Logdanidi’s remarkable debut on Rhythm Büro, an album shaped by years of travel, loss, and renewal. These records capture the in-between hours of the season, where club energy and quiet reflection overlap.
Elsewhere, rhythm took on new shapes. Architectural’s release on Tikita threaded the tribal with the hypnotic, while Toki Fuko’s Annulled Music EP moved like vapor through structure. Hagva’s debut on Stagno hinted at transcendence through rhythm’s instability, and Space Biology appeared on Sure Thing with four tracks treating contrast as conversation. CAIV’s collaboration for OODA pushed their latticework percussion into hallucinatory territory, and Nick Breinich, on Old Technology, turned inward with a tactile minimalism that feels almost private. Closing the month, IDO’s long-awaited Transcendental Movements II gathered the threads into something meditative, weightless, and worth every moment of waiting.
