Favorite Mixes from September 2025
Each month draws its own geography of sound, and September traced one that moved between reflection and release. The early stretch belonged to DjSport, whose gentle downtempo mix carried the calm precision of daylight listening, music that reshapes the edges of a morning. From there, DOC’s improvised live jam, Ultramarín’s mind-altering avant-garde recorded at Espacio Perpendicular, Lynne’s and Patrick Russell’s intimate sets from Mostra, unfolded like parallel studies in atmosphere: each one exploring how stillness and tension can coexist within a single drift.
As the month deepened, rhythm began to reassert itself in more angular forms. Craig Gonzalez and o.utlier both approached polyrhythms as architecture, building patterns that bend perception rather than obey it, while Romi’s halftime and drum & bass selections gave motion a new elasticity. Mareena brought a surge of clarity and optimism through her kinetic techno selections for Reclaim Your City podcast, and softi closed the circuit with hypnotic focus, guiding things back into shadow. Together, these ten sets form a cartography of movement, a reminder that even in transition, sound always finds new terrain to inhabit.
