Favorite Releases from October 2026
It's trick-or-treat weekend, and we've got plenty of treats. Musical ones, of course.
What a month of music October has been. A quick glance at our list reveals a noticeable shift away from the dance floor, and that's perfectly fine. Our Favorite Mixes selection should meet those needs. For us, October was largely about introspection, slowing things down, and occasionally venturing a little further off the usual path.
Three collaborative albums deserve a special mention. Rita Revell & TKB's Little Dog Panting, Dino Sabatini & Luigi Tozzi's XAMAN, and Steven Hess & Rutger Zuydervelt's Re:construct each offer something quite different, but all three show how fruitful it can be when two creative minds bring their ideas together.
Atom™ takes us on a psychedelic, cinematic excursion with Eastern Sunrise, the first installment of an upcoming trilogy.
Claudio PRC revisits Self Surrender, deconstructing it into a lush, introspective ambient piece originally created for his live performance at Endzeit. The latest Silent Season release from Hrímr and an absolute beauty from r beny belong in similar territory. Essential listening for those precious moments of “me time.”
Civilistjävel! and Greer venture into some of the stranger, equally beautiful corners of electronic music with their respective albums, each approaching experimentation from a different angle.
And then there's the new album from Andy Stott, bringing his signature blend of lo-fi grooves and haunting vocals from Alison Skidmore and Elaine Howley. A very welcome addition to an already excellent month of music.
