PREMIERE: Javier Marimon - But then I understood (Bas Dobbelaer Remix) [Slippery Yard]

Arriving at its third release, Slippery Yard has accumulated a solid foundation from which it can grow. Each contribution prior has been topical and well curated. Who would say no to Daniel[i] and Vand? Or an Arthur Robert stomper primed for an early morning. The concept is solidifying and so are the releases.

On the docket today is a window back in time to last year’s Perpendicular fest. Picture this, the mighty Javier Marimon on a Sunday afternoon, sunlight streaming through the trees. Beckoning those still in their beds back to the dancefloor. Weaving an intricate tale, none too aggressive, but none too calm. ‘The future is behind’ embodies exactly that. Although with a twist.

Like a well placed flourish, none too distracting but artfully done, we have Bas Dobbelaer adding his presence into the mix. A fitting choice to the release as he had laid down an incredible set the night prior. His remix of ‘But then I understood’ slinks along in the murky shadows, growling and keeping things low, maintaining the groove but giving space to each element.

‘The future is behind’ will be released on the 5th of November both on digital and vinyl.
