PREMIERE: IMGL - Wollemia [Orbitando]

Representing a blend of musical cultures and backgrounds, Orbitando is a Columbian label based in Valencia. Since their inception in 2022, they’ve wasted no time in carving a proper niche out through their curational skills. With a few notable releases including Costélus’ Sowers of worlds, Diagram’s Structure of Thought, and the Cosmosphere VA.

Joining the ranks is Italian producer Gianluca Tavaroli, aka IMGL’s forth-coming EP titled ‘Bloom In Static’. The release is a journey through the sonic lands of half-time, drum and bass and maybe even some jungle elements thrown in for good measure. It marks only the second full release under this moniker amongst a smattering of remixes, but truly the devil lay in the details as Gianluca brings forth two decades of classical musicianship that melds well with his passion for electronica. A pairing that can only transpire to create unique and memorable auditory moments straying off the beaten path of predictability.

Wollemia rounds out the six track release, however unlike its namesake (one of, if not the oldest pine tree species in the world) sounding incredibly fresh and full of energy. Granulated chime-like synths set the tone with sweeping pads and sighs curling around the melodic intro. Soon the tumbling kicks join the fray and give that signature sway. As the song progresses, the addition of a darker melody adds a gravity to the remainder of the track that interacts so well with the light, and frenetic hi-hats and snares chaotically bouncing around.

Bloom In Static will be released via Bandcamp on Orbitando, February 20th.
