PREMIERE: Hohe & 04061 - Puttaaq [Blende Hub]
Marking their first musical collaboration together, the head honchos behind the Blende Hub imprint, Hohe & 04061 have joined forces to craft a delectable new EP. Their third in the project, whose existence comes via an artist-run label, Instinkt lab lets the two focus more on curation and their respective creative identities. With their prior releases seeing a familiar face from Laima Adelaide on a well-rounded compilation and a debut LP from Lotus Fx.
A common thread throughout what Hohe & 04061 are curating is as they put it, ‘experimentation within convenient and familiar structures’. While at surface level, the feelings may be familiar, below there is an unexpected depth. This is the reason why the EP tugs at you, and piques the interest, making you want more.
Puttaaq swirls mysteriously around you, the tendrils of melody forever expanding, creating a layer over all. The muted kicks give life to the scene, but it’s a murky one. Ebbing and flowing like a wind across the plains, the highs and lows of the track have a life-like nature to them.
Blende03 will be released on a limited edition lathe cut vinyl as well as digitally on Bandcamp on the 29th of May including an incredible remix by Mod21 to round out the package.
