PREMIERE: Foreign Material - Kantae Niskae (Evigt Mörker Remix) [Navigare Audio]

Navigare Audio is a Swedish platform with a presence that feels cool, calm and carries an element of mystery. Everything is done at exactly the right time. Nothing feels forced, as it is a platform working around the rhythm of life for three friends. The three friends now dwell and float between the far north of Europe in Sweden and Norway. These are places well known for putting techno centre stage in Europe with small but tight-knit scenes. People travel from around the world to attend events thrown by labels and festivals such as Hypnus, Monument and of course, Navigare.

Navigare’s presence in the scene first delivered a podcast, followed by their debut release in 2021 by Marcus Henriksson with remixes from Deepbass and Toffes Värld. That was the start of a beautiful collection of podcasts, with the opening three coming from founders Don Pepe, Frederik Navigare and Anders Emanuel. They set the scene and the standard right there, and now it is a catalogue of gems.

I’ve had the joy of listening to this track we are premiering again and again. Foreign Material, the French artist known for his label NORITE with Brussels-based Souleiman, gives us the EP and the track Kantae Niskae. It is remixed by Stockholm-based Evigt Mörker, and those who know, know he goes deep. In this instance, he goes deep enough to unearth the track from the depths of Mother Europa’s ancient soil, to use words shared by Navigare. The combination of the two artists creates a dancefloor must.

It slows and then comes in loud but in a powerful way with real meaning. It isn't intrusive, but it is direct in where it wants to take you and won't leave you behind. You can get lost in your thoughts, as I was, and then be pulled straight back in. That’s the beautiful thing about a label like this, as it all stems from transcendence and hypno. A lot of tracks can let you drift off until your thoughts spiral into the abyss and then it’s finished, but in this instance, it’s a stern "you’re coming with me." What an awesome kick drum that escalates at 26 seconds and 4 minutes 35 seconds. It is so good.
