Favorite Releases from July 2026

Summer has settled into its usual rhythm. Festivals every weekend, temperatures that make leaving the house feel optional, and plenty of new music arriving faster than anyone could reasonably keep up with.

July brought two exceptional compilations. All Things Broken from the Rhythm Büro crew and the latest remix package from the On Board Music family both embrace variety without ever feeling scattered, making them a joy to listen to from beginning to end. Different moods, different tempos, different perspectives, all coexisting naturally within the same journey.

Gi Gi's album on Mood Hut, Andreas Tilliander's LP on quiet details, and Respira's latest chapter of Non-Transparent all find beauty in a more restrained approach. These records carry a sense of calm that feels particularly fitting this time of year, whether you're escaping the afternoon heat or winding down after a long weekend.

5RVZ's Dhaku, Sciama's Wave Interaction, and Javier Marimon's Dilettante all approach rhythm differently, but they share a fascination with pulling familiar structures apart and assembling them into something that feels entirely their own.

Varuna’s own Mario steps out with his debut solo EP Devil's Hole Mine on Transmigration, while Forest on Stasys debuts on Delsin's Inertia imprint. Both deliver the kind of techno that feels perfectly at home on a big sound system in the middle of festival season.
